漆の蒔絵・螺鈿等の装飾技術を扱い、緻密で煌びやかな造形物を制作している。
水菓子の練切を模した香合に、厚さ0.04mmの切金という純金の板を鏤め、研ぎ出し、磨き上げた。
This incense holder is a dazzling, elaborate creation using lacquer art techniques such as maki-e (gold powder/sheet decoration) and raden (seashell inlay). Resembling the form of Japanese sweets called “nerikiri,” the piece is interspersed with pure gold sheets as thin as 0.04mm and then covered with a lacquer coating. The entire piece was then polished multiple times.
